Members are 18+. Creators are 21+. That gap is deliberate.
Most adult-friendly payment processors and merchant banks treat 21+ as the safe underwriting baseline. Setting our floor at 21 lets every Star use the same payout rails without a special-case review for their first three years of adulthood.
U.S. law requires us to keep performer records (see our 2257 Statement). Setting the bar at 21 puts us safely above the 18 line and reduces the chance that a borderline ID dispute ever lands on a creator's payout.
The first three years of legal adulthood are when creators are most vulnerable to coercion, exploitative contracts, and content that they will later regret. Asking applicants to wait until 21 — and proactively re-inviting them on their birthday — is the simplest meaningful protection we can offer.
